From The Superintendent
Dear Friends,
In the last plan we said out goodbyes to Richard Jackson and Sue Whitehead. It was good to have such a well-attended Circuit Service in July and I know that it was appreciated by both Richard and Sue.
Change comes with the Methodist New Year. Rev Sylvester Deigh begins on 1 September. He is living in a manse in Wigan with Rachel, his wife, who is superintendent of that Circuit. Another new member of staff is Sian Street. Sian, who lives in Kearsley near Bolton is training as a Deacon at Luther King House in Manchester. She will be working part time, mainly in the new section of which Sylvester is the presbyter. We warmly welcome them both to the Circuit and look forward to the gifts and graces they will bring. A welcome service will take place on Thursday 2 September at 7.30 at Kingsleigh.
September also means Spotlight. The show, Spotlight on Broadway, will take place between Wed 15 and Fri 17. Please come along for a good evening and to show your support for this valuable group.
Pat Malham, a former local preacher in this Circuit, moves into her first appointment in September. We pray for her and Damian as they adjust to ministry and marriage to it!
Katharine Bland, who was on placement from college in the past year begins her ministry in Pernwortham. Out thoughts and prayers go with her, husband Paul and son Chris as they settle in a new area.
Many changes have taken place in this Circuit. Please continue to pray for the Leadership Team as they seek to move the Circuit forward; may we be open to the promptings of the Spirit and may we have the courage and conviction to respond appropriately.
With best wishes
Paul
